Salsa--Quick!

You still have time to make yummy salsa for dinner tonight, this recipe is quick and delicious. It reminds me of the salsa served at Los Hermanos one of our favorite Mexican Restaurant. The recipe comes from The  Pioneer Woman so you know it will be worth making. I often cut the recipe in half and it still makes plenty. It is good with chips, nachos, toastadas, quesadillas, omelets and baked potatoes.

Restaurant Style Salsa

1 can (28 ounce) Whole Tomatoes with Juice
2 cans (10 ounce) Rotel Tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic
1 whole Jalapeno, quartered and sliced thin
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 cup cilantro
juice from 1/2 lime
Combine all ingredients in food processor, pulse to desired consistency. Refrigerate at least one hour to blend flavors.

Thanks for this recipe...it sounds more economical than buying all that in the jar...teens go through a lot of this kind of thing, so I am very happy to have this recipe. Happy Cinco de Mayo...we had tacos and a refried bean dip with pita chips, followed by some nice cold strawberry mango sorbet...the boys were happy. Thanks again for this recipe. Sounds super easy, too!

I'll have to give this one a try, I love Los Hermanos salsa! I've never made salsa with canned tomatoes, I'm intrigued.

Yum. I love salsa and the homemade recipe I have is a Rick Bayless recipe that yields wonderful salsa but it's sort of time consuming. This looks like an equally delicious salsa that can be made much faster. I'm sold!
