I love cookies and am always game for a new recipe. But when the recipe lacks chocolate, nuts, coconut etc. and focuses on honey and wheat germ I must say I was a bit skeptical. I made the cookie, lemon zest added interest, the dough which required a brief chill was quite tasty.
I baked a batch and ate a warm cookie. The wheat germ added a fun texture and the lemon zest gave this cookie a fresh flavor. The honey was a little strong for my taste. Did I like this cookie? I must have because I ate plenty! Would I make them again? Probably not. So many cookies, so little time! But it was a fun.
Check out the TWD site and see what other bakers thought of this unusual cookie. The recipe for Honey-Wheat cookies is on page 81 in Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan. It will also be posted on Michelle's blog Flourchild.

My reactions were the same as yours. A good cookie, but not great. I suppose if I was on a diet, these would be a decent pick ;)
I remember that your mother always had a jar with cookies available in her kitchen for anyone who walked through the door. Do you do the same? Thanks for the review.
Like the way you arranged your cookies for the photos. I'm with you on the possibility of a repeat performance.
I can't wait to try mine! I love how your pictures turned out. :)
Im glad you enjoyed the cookies, they look great! Thank you for baking along with me this week.
I completely agree with your review! These were definitely fun and easy though.
Every time I look at the photo in your blog header, I wish I had some of those bars!
You might have liked my gluten free version. I could not use any wheat so I subbed nuts and they turned out nicely and looked almost the same.
Oh, they look so pretty in the unique dish! We liked these a lot. I thought they went really well with a cup of hot tea on these cold snowy days here in Indiana. As a matter of fact, I think I was making a few more cups of tea than usual as an excuse to have a cookie. Lemon and honey built-in what more can you ask for! Your cookies look wonderful.
